December 30, 2020
Last week,
The Observer cartoonist Dr JIMMY SPIRE SSENTONGO released a book about his journey as a cartoonist. The 116-page book is a collection of some of his most famous satirical cartoons that mostly portray the relationship between the state and citizens, oppressed and their oppressors as well as societal humour, writes Ernest Jjingo.
In his book about his journey as a cartoonist, Dr Jimmy Spire Ssentongo roots his humour from his mother whom he describes as a tough woman. But he and his siblings would always find their way around her toughness by laughing and making fun of her especially at a distance.
