India Business News: BENGALURU: Manipal Hospitals, the second-largest healthcare provider in India, has entered into an agreement to acquire an 87% stake in Medica Synergi.
Manipal Hospitals, the second-largest hospital chain in India, has completed the acquisition of an 84% stake in AMRI Hospitals Ltd. The acquisition is part of Manipal Hospitals strategy to expand its footprint in eastern India and strengthen its presence. The deal, worth Rs 2,400 crore, was finalized after prolonged negotiations and court battles.
Other than Manipal Hospitals, Sheares is also an investor in the Kolkata-based hospital chain Medica Synergie, while Temasek holds a 16% stake in Global Health, the operator of Medanta Hospitals.
