capital. we all witnessed that. this is not something that is an opinion, this is a fact. and what the president has said in his actions have shown that he supports law enforcement but he also supports our communities. what the president has been very clear about that we want law enforcement officers in our communities who are guardians not warriors who have care and concern for the people they are sworn to protect and serve. and the president knows at the end of the day law enforcement wants to return home safely, as well as communities wanted to return home safely to their families when they ve had interaction with law enforcement. and supporting law enforcement and supporting our communities are not mutually exclusive and the president has made that very clear where he stands. when you look at the support of the american rescue funds, every single republican in congress voted against that.
some people in the republican party are figuring out this is not going to work. so, i know today, it s been reported that, in one of the most competitive races in the country, in arizona, united states senate seat, that republican nominee blake masters now trying to strip his website from all of the comments he s made about supporting these kinds of extreme positions. the republicans have nominated people all across the country who not only don t have the right language, they literally they believe that women should not have the ability to make decisions about their own pregnancy. i don t even think it s there isn t a way you can message your way out of the extremism on the republican party right now. well, and they re not running away from it. i mean, i think mitch mcconnell just sent some rescue funds to jd vance, who said, not in an adversarial interview on this show or anything like it, but in a friendly interview, that he thinks women should stay in violent marriages. in som
that president biden ran on from the inflation reduction act to what we ve seen happen in cities with the american rescue fund, and i think that s often overlooked as well. people don t understand that even with the american rescue funds, as mayor, i was struggling to figure out how we were going to make ends meet with our operating budget, to allow us to be able to continue to pay our sanitation workers and our firefighters, et cetera, and we have to continue to get that messaging out, so whether it s on msnbc or on whatever platform my son is on this week, we ll continue to push that message, but i know the student loan cancellation is resonating with young people especially across the country and many families across the country. 43 million of them are getting this message today i m sure. keisha lance bottom s, it s
