tuesday pushed by state republicans who want to see him out but the majority of californians want newsom to stay. the governor is facing 46 opponents on the ballot, including radio talk show host larry elder the republican frontrunner. in a speech saturday newsom says they are trying to pull a fast one on voters. the idea that we re even debating our democracy is something i never thought would occur in my lifetime. this recall is about getting us in an off year and an off month while no one else is paying attention. but trust me, the other side is not only been paying attention, they have been organizing for the last year and a half. roberto is the editor of voice of orange county and joins us now. thank you for being here with us. when the recall vote became official i spoke with a political expert in california and he poopooed it and said
back progress california made on immigrant rights over the past few decades. all our sanctuary policies, health care for undocumented immigrants as well as immense investments in the public education system. it would have broad repercussions. on the local level, there are other issues that are vital. the economy, homelessness, covid, the environment, the drought, continued drought. are those issues where these candidates and even the incumbent are getting the attention of voters? well, larry elder, republican frontrunner, made a huge deal out of the homelessness problem that we have in california and that s been a major theme in fox news propaganda, anti-newsom propaganda, anti-california propaganda played an outsized
martha, remember early on, democrats were worried about turnout? newsome didn t talk about the recall. democrats were not motivated like republicans. that has changed. now with mail-in voting, ballot box drop offs and early voting, 27% of the 22 million voters have voted. polls show newsome hoping to keep his office. he s been on the defense about stay-at-home orders, rising crime, homeless necessary and the hypocrisy of dining at the french laundry without a mask and sending his kids to private school. larry elder, the republican frontrunner, continue the line this morning saying as a black product of inner city l.a. and public schools, he can win hispanic voters and the election. he reacted to word that president biden and vice president harris would campaign with newsome. my reaction is that they know
vermont but he wasn t a natural for new hampshire, he really wasn t and she had a much better organization. reporter: next up was the nevada caucus and on february 27th, the south carolina primary. clinton crushed sanders by winning close to 74% of the vote. her superior organization made it seem like she had won the nomination. she began hitting republican frontrunner, donald trump. despite what you hear, america never stopped being great. reporter: on super tuesday, march 1st, winning seven states, many with big delegate counts. sanders won in smaller states and by smaller margins. and looked over. the big news out of michigan last night was the big upset over hillary clinton. michigan was significant because it showed that sanders message on trade was really
terms of threat. jeb bush said no body is more cleared eyed about isis than my friend and hope the party and my friends listen to his counsel. bill: donald trump is talking about vladimer putin coming days after the russian president praiseded the republican frontrunner. trump s rivals are slamming this relationship with vladimer putin. trump appears to be fighting back at the allegations against putin including ordering journalist and political rivals to be killed in russia. if he has killed reporters i think that is terrible. but this isn t like someone who stood with a gun and admitted he killed. he always denied it. it has never been proven he killed anybody. you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.
