21/04/21 According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Aspyr Media is currently working on a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Jason made the claim in an interview with MinnMax Show. At time of writing, Aspyr Media has not made a comment on this rumour so this is what it will remain, despite Jason’s track record to breaking stories about projects in the past including Assassin’s Creed titles. Disney has also not commented on the speculation about this remake. This is not the first time this year that Jason has corroborated on the news that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is in development. In January, Bespin Bulletin announced that sources had stated a remake was in development but at the time it was unknown who the developer was. Now it is stated by Jason that Aspyr Media are that team. Aspyr Media is no stranger to the Star Wars games. The studio has already released remasters of Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars Racer, and Star Wars Jedi Knig

“This is public at this point, I’ve basically confirmed Aspyr – which is the company that’s ported a bunch of KOTOR games – is working on the remake,” he said. The news has been corroborated by Eurogamer who added that the game will be more of a remake than a straight port of the game. As well as Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. They’ve also already released a port of Knights of the Old Republic for iOS.
