MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian People s Congress is the supreme form of democracy, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Isachenko told journalists as he spoke about expectations from the 6th Belarusian People s Congress, BelTA has learned.
“The preparations are in full swing: Belarusians are busy holding discussions and electing delegates. The head of state stressed that the delegates should represent all groups of the society: the intelligentsia, the working class, the youth, and our respected elders. The delegates should be competent people who will voice their point of view and propose ways of our country s development. Of course, we all expect the Belarusian People s Congress to be an epochal moment, so to say. The congress and the nation make fateful decisions for the country and outline the path of development and strategic areas,” Anatoly Isachenko said.
