going so far as impeaching the president. it s largely symbolic. it s a publicly reprimanding. what s your goal? the goal is to put the congress and the united states on record that we don t approve of racism and that the president when he makes these kinds of racist remarks is not speaking for the people of the united states. we have ambassadors in country s all over country s all over calling in their american ambassadors when the president characterized certain countries as terrible places, he may be right or wrong but the point he will made was we don t want people from places like that, we want the people from places like norway. we don t want black or brown people, we want white people coming here. that s straight racism. it s part of his character. we saw the same thing in his remarks after charlottesville. we saw the same thing going way back to his taking an ad in the paper saying that we should execute central park five who proved to be innocent.
alsender and nbc white house report ali vitali. let me go to you, yamish. you know, lindsey graham was quoted ad quoted as taken the president on right there in the meeting reprimanding and give him credit for saying america is supposedly a place of ideas and, of course, senator durbin said he said it. but what is more striking to me and what he said i consider and i ve been saying racist and abominable but is the policy coming out of that that it s he s no longer a 70-year-old man sitting on fifth avenue just sprouting words. he is affecting policy. and this could mean we re moving towards a race-based immigration policy in this country. he certainly certainly his ideas are affecting policy. there is this idea that if
they went aboard his team. are you saying he s surrounding himself with sycophants, are they not competent? i think he demands however you say the noun version of sycophant from these people and i think many of these people and i make this point in the column would not have gotten these opportunities under a different president. donald trump knows that. they know that and that s sort of one of the dysfunctions of the administration. they don t feel the confidence that they might if they were serving a president who had a lot of other options. donald trump did not have his pick of the crop. there were many other people who were nonstarters because the administration, donald trump kept a list of anyone who had ever said anything bad about him. in retrospect of course mitt romney was not going to be secretary of state because he had committed the cardinal sin of publicly reprimanding donald trump. they may think it s a good
people stars and change their lives. this woman who i interviewed changed her career goals and dreams because of this experience where he looked at her and said, i can make you, i can break you. it s stunning. these allegations continue to come out, and they continue to be denied by the board. there are so many levels of responsibility here from people who knew about his behavior. and again, people are splitting hairs now, saying, well, we knew they were consensual affairs, we didn t know there was sexual harassment. well, we might have known there was sexual harassment but we didn t know let s say the board thought they were payoffs because of consensual affairs. at that point they didn t think he needed some sort of reprimanding counseling, rehabilitation. so when he s saying, i m going into therapy now, i want a second chance, i m pretty sure the second chance was a few decades ago. we re going to continue to cover this story and so many others for you today, but thank
espn. from the white house standpoint, i m not surprised. donald trump is a white supremacist sympathier. we know that. we have seen that and black women are the krimt toe night to this administration. they are terrified of black women. whenever a black woman says something about this administration, they re quaking in their boots. i also have a problem with espn by reprimanding. they just brought back hank williams to monday night football. it s not just right. i just want to say they also parted ways with kurt shilg when he right. over essentially offensive right wing political opinions that he expressed in a nonespn capacity where they basically said we re going to part ways with you because of the content of what you said. right. here is the difference, though, chris. where did she lie? i mean, nothing as you
