Orange County Water District Board Elects New Leadership
The Orange County Water District (OCWD; the District) Board of Directors elected Stephen R. Sheldon to serve as the District’s board president, and Cathy Green and Tri Ta to serve as first and second vice president, respectively. The board will lead the District in fulfilling its mission to protect and manage the Orange County Groundwater Basin, which provides 77% of the water to 2.5 million people in north and central Orange County. The elections were held during last week’s board of directors meeting.
President Sheldon represents Division 5, which includes the cities of Irvine and Newport Beach. He has served on the board of directors since 2005, served as president of the board in 2008 and 2009, and most recently completed a term as second vice president.
