I hope you’ve been doing your stretches and staying hydrated, because we’re headed into a five-week marathon of House activity. The Liberals and New Democrats are huddled virtually for their conventions this weekend, so everyone should be returning to the Hill pumped up on policy and raring to go.
Here are a few pieces of policy and politicking to look out for in the week ahead.
With one week to go until the federal budget is unveiled the first one in more than two years the House will turn its collective attention to the government’s Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020. Bill C-14 would make good on some of the financial promises in the fall economic statement tabled by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland last November.
