We speak with two lawmakers who were influential in drafting the bill and getting it passed: Representative Liz Miranda, who represents Roxbury and Dorchester, and Representative Russell Holmes, who represents parts of Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Roslindale and Jamaica Plain.

Governor Charlie Baker is sending the landmark police reform bill back to the legislature, with amendments.
Baker says he s broadly supporting key aspects of the reform bill, like an independent commission to certify and de-certify police officers, but is asking the legislature to change some aspects of it, such which state office in charge of police training.
