(Bloomberg) Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE’s covid vaccine remained more than 91% effective after six months, according to data from a final-stage trial released Thursday.
The Pfizer report also suggested the inoculation worked against the variant that arose in South Africa, while a separate study in the U.K. showed the vaccine generated strong antibody responses in 98% of elderly people.
The epidemic may peak within 7 to 10 days in France, followed two weeks later by intensive-care admissions, Health Minister Olivier Veran said. Poland’s government apologized for an error in its vaccine rollout that led to middle-aged people being mistakenly called in for shots.
