KPCC Transportation Reporter Ryan Fonseca discusses a bill allowing cities to launch speed camera programs. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were sent out on a “medical rescue/suicidal person call” in East L.A. Upon finding a man inside a car, holding a kitchen knife, they called a mental evaluation team. Before the team arrived, the department said the man charged the deputies with the knife and a deputy opened fire.
