welcome back. as we take a look at some of the morning s other top headlines. a federal judge has set a date for e. jean carroll s second defamation trial against former president trump. in 2024 a jury scheduled to hear carroll s amended complaint in the still pending case against trump where carroll is seeking new damages of at least $10 million. this follows remarks made by trump during a televised town hall appearance last month. carroll s team alleges that he doubled down on his prior defamatory statements during that televised event. carroll s second defamation trial against the former president is now set to fall just before the first gop primaries and is one of a series of upcoming trials against trump. new york state attorney general letitia james lawsuit alleging trump inflated his personal net worth to gain favorable loan agreements is set to go to trial in october. trump has unsurprisingly called
next week to file a notice of compliance. that includes all defense attorneys for trump as well as those for his aide, walt nauta. judge cannon wrote the instructions apply to any forthcoming attorneys as well. she did not set any additional trial dates at this time. politico notes its comment with criminal cases involving classified documents for defense attorneys to obtain security clearances. the government will likely have to share key aspects of the documents with trump and his legal team in order to make its case. some of the documents may also be declassified and revealed to the public as part of the prosecution though the doj has not yet signaled any immediate intention to do so. joining us now msnbc legal analyst charles coleman. we are glad he s here to help us wade through all these legal headlines facing the former president. so let s start with the boxes. president trump has claimed that he didn t have a chance to go
