LFC launches anti-hate campaign – Stop The Hate, Stand Up, Report It

LFC launches anti-hate campaign – Stop The Hate, Stand Up, Report It Reds’ campaign ‘Stop The Hate, Stand Up, Report It’ calls for fans to report online hate.  Club will join footballing organisations in social media boycott from 3pm BST on Friday April 30 to midnight on May 3. To take a stand against hate, the Reds are launching a new social media campaign – Stop The Hate, Stand Up, Report It – that calls upon fans to report incidents of racism, hate and discriminatory abuse online.  The campaign aims to encourage both fans and the wider community to stand up for and support those who are on the receiving end of such abuse and take definitive action by reporting it directly to the club and relevant social media platforms.

Aleksander Ceferin feels now is the time to stand together to stop online abuse

Since it was first announced, the boycott has grown as other sport governing bodies, sponsors, partners, broadcasters and media outlets came on board. Ceferin hopes such direct action will speak volumes in the drive for change as social media channels fall silent from 3pm on Friday until 11.59pm on Monday night. He said: “There have been abuses both on the pitch and on social media. This is unacceptable and needs to be stopped, with the help of the public and legislative authorities and the social media giants. “Allowing a culture of hatred to grow with impunity is dangerous, very dangerous, not only for football, but for society as a whole.

New scheme to help put end to damaged and overflowing bins in Chester

A NEW scheme is aiming to put an end to overflowing or damaged bins in Cheshire West and Chester. CWaC is trialling a new scheme this week which will streamline how residents can report issues with litter bins. New stickers have been placed on 115 bins in the trial, each with a unique QR code which can be scanned with a smartphone. This then opens a direct link to the ‘Report It’ section of the council’s website, identifying the exact location of bin. Residents can report bins that are damaged or need emptying. Areas included in the trial include Grosvenor Park, Chester and Chester city centre’s Big Belly bins.
