Guwahati, April 20 : Over 66 per cent of the 2,532 voters on Tuesday cast their votes in the re-polling in four polling stations in three assembly constituencies in southern Assam, officials said.
Election officials said that there is no untoward incident reported from any of the polling stations under Cachar, Karimganj and Dima Hasao districts. There were certain irregularities were found in these four polling stations, where normal balloting were held in the second phase of Assam assembly polling on April 1, forcing the poll panel to conduct re-polling.

Guwahati: The Election Commission (EC) has ordered re-polling in four polling stations in southern Assam, where normal balloting was held in the second phase of polling on April 1, officials said on Saturday (March 10).
The EC Secretary Ajay Kumar Verma wrote a letter to the Assam Chief Electoral Officer Nitin Khade and said that considering all the reports and other circumstances, the EC has ordered re-polling in four polling stations on April 20, news agency IANS reported.

Guwahati, April 10 : The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday has ordered re-polling in four polling stations in three assembly constituencies in southern Assam, where normal balloting were held in the second phase of polling on April 1, officials said.
The Election Commission Secretary Ajay Kumar Verma in a letter to the Assam Chief Electoral Officer Nitin Khade said that considering all the reports and other circumstances, the EC has ordered re-polling in four polling stations on April 20.

Guwahati/Silchar, April 3 : The Karimganj District Magistrate (DM) has ordered a magisterial inquiry and the police arrested three people in connection with the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) found in a BJP candidate wife s vehicle on Thursday night, officials said on Saturday.
A district official said that the Karimganj DM Anbamuthan MP (Repeat Anbamuthan MP) has ordered the magisterial inquiry and entrusted Additional District Magistrate Rajeshan Terang to conduct the probe and submit the report within three days.
Meanwhile, the police also arrested three people for attacking the private car in which the polling personnel along the polled EVM were travelling after the completion of the second phase of polling on Thursday.
