Ted Lieu Says Matt Gaetz Entitled to Presumption of Innocence, Not Committee Seat

Representative Ted Lieu has again said that Congressman Matt Gaetz should be removed from the House Judiciary Committee immediately while he remains under federal investigation.
Lieu, a Democrat representing California s 33rd congressional district, told MSNBC on Friday that Gaetz had the right to the presumption of innocence but not to retain the committee assignment.
Gaetz is under federal investigation over allegations involving sex trafficking and having sex with a minor. He denies the allegations. The Republican represents Florida s 1st congressional district.

Ted Lieu Calls for Matt Gaetz s Immediate Committee Removal After Wingman Letter Revealed

Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) has called for Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to be immediately removed from the House Judiciary Committee after it was reported that his wingman Joel Greenberg wrote that the pair had sex with an underage girl.
Posting on social media on Thursday, Lieu urged the House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy to remove Gaetz from his committee assignment as he argued the body s jurisdiction constituted an untenable conflict of interest for the congressman.
He also pointed to the Daily Beast report on Thursday night that revealed the details of the alleged letter Greenberg sent to Roger Stone as he sought a pardon in the final few months of the Trump administration.
Things have been awfully quiet on the Matt Gaetz front lately. Last we checked in, the Florida representative was still being investigated by the Department of Justice for allegedly having sex with and trafficking an underage girl. His Venmo history supported claims that he’d paid multiple of-age but very young women for sex, using his huge mess of a friend Joel Greenberg as a go-between.
We also learned that Gaetz has been accused of being an absolute nightmare of a creep, with alleged workplace behaviors ranging from showing colleagues nude pictures and videos of women he’s slept with to making a contest out of trying to sleep with staffers, married colleagues, and others.

A Democratic congressman is calling on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to remove Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) from the House Judiciary Committee over “an untenable conflict of interest,” citing a Daily Beast report that includes a confession letter allegedly written by Joel Greenberg claiming that he and Gaetz paid for sex with multiple women including an underage teenage girl.
