it is able to, perhaps authenticate this claim? again, i agree with everything that was said by the lieutenant colonel. if a soldier were abducted, then it s not going to change the course of the operation. perhaps some forces would be diverted to cordon off an area so that if there were an abducted soldier, again, this is very hypothetical, that they would not be able to transfer him to other sectors of the gaza strip. it has been israel s army policy to section off parts of gaza that way, hermetically. the israeli military, the israeli government is very determined, as was said earlier, to proceed and try to achieve the goals of this mission, which are exposing those penetration tunnels and eliminating the rocket fire. okay. and no confirmation about the soldier now. everyone s very sensitive about it. but i assure you if there were confirmation, the government would say it.
well, for many of the gazans it will be a pretty terrifying time. massive displace. we ve had a tripling in the number of displaced in the schools we run in gaza over the course of the last couple of days. just received figures we re now at 70,000 displaced moved into 55 or 57 of our schools. the number is changing literally by the minute. people are scared. what we re seeing compared to previous conflicts is a higher proportion of the displaced coming to our schools and when we asked them why, they said because they don t feel safe anywhere, so many targets hit in residential areas, they don t feel safe with their families or neighbors but relatively safe in our installation sdmrgs do you have a sense i know it tries to give warning where the next strike is coming. do you have a sense of how many of those who are currently
companies, about their banks. several sure of their biggest banks will not be able to access the market. but these actions have not changed russia s behavior in the least. that s why they were ratcheted up. that s previcely the point. i don t think anybody in america is yet talking about putting troops in there. nobody is talking about military. the point is that we re trying to do this in a thoughtful way with the maximum amount of diplomatic energy and pressure, and it would help enormously if some countries in europe that have been a little reluctant to move would now recognize this wake-up call and join the united states and president obama in taking the lead and also stepping up. that s important. and mr. secretary, i have to let you go, but i can t without asking you about israel, which has now expanded, it says, its attack into gaza to try to stop the missiles from coming in to israel.
they d captured an israeli soldier early sunday morning in a clash on the northeastern border between gaza and israel. they gave the name and the number of that soldier. i won t give you that over the air because we don t know if that soldier s next of kin have been informed. we looked for their statement at the idf, that s the israeli military says they are aware of these reports and are checking. just to put this into conflict, is this a wild claim by the al khassam brigades or not? over the last nights when they have made statements over commando raids and clashes in which they caused casualties on the israeli military their statements have largely proved accurate. so we re going to have to see, we re going to have to see over the next minutes and hours what the israeli military response, but we ve already heard the
