case is puzzling investigators at this point. and, yes, classes are resuming today at the university of idaho in moscow after the thanksgiving break. and some students say they re just too afraid to return to campus. now, as you said, it s been two weeks since the four university of idaho students were stabbed to death just blocks from campus. they were killed inside a rental house while two others who live there apparently slept through the attack. still, no suspect, no arrest. and now investigators say they ve already processed more than 1,000 tips. but they re still trying to crowd source information from the local community. so far the fbi, which is assisting the investigation, says it s received more than 480 digital media submissions. and idaho s governor set aside up to a million dollars in state emergency funds. now, jose, there have been questions whether the murders could be linked to previous crimes in the region but there
at the scene for the first time in a few days. it was the fbi s behavioral analysis unit. they walked around the rental house, they just just off campus and went inside for a while and came out carrying a small bag of possible evidence. this is the team charged with developing a profile of the killer. if they have one, they have not shared it with the public. there was also some activity at moscow police department last night. we saw the county prosecutor meeting with fbi agents and we re told he s been here every day for a briefing. in fact, just saw him leave a few minutes ago. right now, he s got no one to prosecutor for the heinous quadruple homicide that s shaken this community. and it will be two weeks from, and there will be classes on monday and .
conservative area. i get the sense that they are very supportive of the police. they want more answers. they want the case solved. right now it appears they re giving the police some leniency, the benefit of the doubt. police did conduct a news conference this week saying they have done 150 interviews, they have 1,000 tips from the public and that they are making progress in this high-profile investigation. but the bottom line is 12 days in police have no arrests, no suspect identified and no murder weapon. the f.b.i. does have a mobile forensics unit in moscow working through a lot of physical evidence taken from that scene, that rental house. there is an elite behavioral analysis unit working the case and likely they ve come up with a profile of the killer and shared that with investigators. it has not been released to the public but police insist there is a reason. this is such a tragic circumstance that we find
on that at this point because we re not going to release why we think that. griff: dan springer is live in moscow idaho with the latest. hey, dan. reporter:. yeah, griff, as you can tell from the police chief, they are well aware here in moscow that the public wants more information than they are providing but they wanted to tell us in that news conference and tell the public that they are making significant progress. this is going to be a lengthy investigation. but they re doing everything that they can to catch the killer of these four college students here over a week ago. for two days in a row now we have seen no activity, no investigative activity at the rental house where the murders took place but we re told there are more than 100 local, state and federal cops working the case. we now have the floor plan of the house. we think the killer entered through the sliding glass doors on the second floor in the back of the house on the left side of the screen there. that goes to
