FORT EDWARD - Recent overdoses and one death are being linked to a batch of fentanyl-laced cocaine and heroin that is circulating in Washington County, the Washington County Sheriff s Office said.

TROY – Rensselaer County Republicans are moving party supporters into the Working Families Party from the Independence Party in an effort to offset Democratic strength in November when County Executive Steve McLaughlin runs for re-election, officials in the three parties confirmed Monday. The move has angered WFP and Democratic leaders.
The Independence, Green and other minor parties’ failure to secure enough votes in the 2020 presidential election cost them their spots on this year’s ballot and threatens to derail the long-time county GOP strategy of running its candidates on multiple lines.

TROY Eddy Heritage House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center now has one of the deadliest coronavirus outbreaks among residential facilities in Rensselaer County.
The county announced Wednesday night that an 82-year-old woman from Eddy Heritage died after contracting COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus. She is the 10th victim in recent weeks from that facility on Tibbits Avenue, which is run by St. Peter s Health Partners.
