CHELSEA, MI - COVID-19 cases and spread in Washtenaw County and the Chelsea area increased dramatically between March 22 and April 12, and Chelsea School District Julie Helber knew a change needed to be made.
In March, the district planned to increase in-person instruction for students at all grade levels on April 19. The surge in cases, however, combined with the uncertainty of how students returning from spring break might impact COVID-19 spread within the district, forced Helber to suggest pushing the increase in face-to-face instruction back a week.
