Funeral services are being arranged in Coral Springs for Schwartzenberger and in Hollywood for Alfin.
Both agents had a history of investigating child pornography and sexual exploitation cases.
Alfin, 36, who had been an FBI special agent since 2009, was recently involved in a case against an aide to the mayor of Miami who was accused of luring a teenage victim to City Hall under the guise of an interview and then kissing and fondling him during the meeting. Rene Pedrosa, who was originally facing state charges that were later dropped for federal charges filed in March 2020, allegedly sent lewd photos to his victim as well.

FBI Director Christopher Ray identified the special agents who d been killed as Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger.
At a press conference outside the FBI Miami Field Office in Miramar, Special-Agent-in-Charge George Piro said Alfin, a New York native, was 36 years old and joined the bureau in 2009. He began in the FBI s Albany office and was assigned to the Miami office in 2017. Alfin is survived by his wife and child.
Schwartzenberger, born in Colorado, was 43 years old and joined the FBI in 2005. She worked out of the Albuquerque office before being reassigned to Miami in 2010. She is survived by her husband and two children.

The two FBI agents fatally shot while serving a warrant Tuesday morning in Sunrise were Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger, both of whom had a distinguished history of investigating child pornography and sexual exploitation cases in South Florida.
The suspect killed in Sunrise, Fla., used a doorbell camera to monitor approaching FBI agents who came to serve a federal warrant, using an assault-style weapon to fire through the unopened door, law enforcement sources told the Miami Herald.
Details continue to emerge about the fatal FBI raid in Sunrise, Fla., that left two agents dead, another three wounded and resulted in the suspect reportedly dying by suicide the agency s deadliest day since 9/11.
As flags at the FBI Miami Field Office remained lowered at half-staff Wednesday, a new report indicated the suspect used a doorbell camera and allegedly fired at agents through the door.

The FBI released the identities of two federal agents who were killed in a shooting early Tuesday morning as law enforcement officials attempted to serve a search warrant in a child pornography case to a suspect who barricaded himself inside his home in a Fort Lauderdale suburb.
