Bellona landowner agent allegedly kept ticket receipts
By Ednal Palmer HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Solomon Star, March 10, 2011) - People of Bellona, Renbell Province will face difficulty in the only effective form of transport serving the province; air transport.
Domestic flights to Bellona will be suspended as of this Saturday.
Solomon Airlines yesterday served a notice on the planned suspension, after attempts to recover a substantial amount of money failed. Flights to Bellona will be suspended until we find a better solution of recovering our SB$250,000 [US$30,000]; or thereabouts; owing by the agent there through the handling and selling of airline tickets and services but not accounting for these monies to the airline, an airline spokesman said.
