A California real estate investor with a checkered past has purchased the Inn of Chicago in Streeterville, betting on a post-COVID recovery for a hotel that took a bumpy trip through bankruptcy court a few years ago.
A venture controlled by hotel investor Remo Polselli acquired the 359-room property at 162 E. Ohio St., according to Cook County property records. The venture bought the 22-story building just off of the Magnificent Mile from New York-based Stabilis Capital Management, which had been trying to sell the hotel since seizing it through foreclosure in 2017.
