I was his debate coach and believe me that was a tough job. talk to me about that. well, john knew his positions on scores of issues and he could express it, but not in 30 seconds. and a debate you have rules, 30-second bites, 60-second bites or responses and getting him to craft 30-second answers was hard because he knew what he was talking about and it took him longer than 30 or 60 seconds to say it. every political adviser has at least one thing they would like to or wish they could have changed about their candidate most off in an endearing way. i m wondering if there was any one frustrating thing that you had over the course of your and his career where you would have said if you could just do it my way. not really with john because having known him for 40 years i knew what hi stood for and knew you could not change him. you could not change his honesty and authenticity. but the thing with mccain is he
yeah, there s so many rich parts of john mccain s life. there s his military service, obviously his captivitcaptivity rich family life even though he had a unique family it was in so many ways an american family, a blended family and there are so many incredible aspects of this man s life to recall and obviously for his sons who have taken up service as he did, that is incredibly important to him and to those of us i spent time as a child in arizona, arizona is a very important place to me and a very important place for john mccain, to watch him leave that place for the final time yesterday and come to washington and later to annapolis. the place he chose to spend the rest of the afterlife for people to visit him there is a real
