Monmouth rallies past Cornell on Tuesday MONMOUTH, ILL. (04/25/2023) The Monmouth College baseball team rallied for a 6-5 walk-off win over Cornell College in 10 innings on Wednesday. The Scots (14-19, 9-12) scored six unanswered runs to win the game with Daniel Lummus (New Port Richey, Florida) delivering the game-winning single. Cornell started the game with a leadoff home run and added two more runs in the third. They plated a pair in the top of the fourth for a 5-0 lead against Monmouth starting pitcher Cade Sharp (Aledo, Illinois). Reliever Toby Turnqust (Monmouth, Illinois) took over in the fourth and prevented the Rams from adding on. The Scots got the offense going in the fifth inning.
