Dying. Tonight a closer look at the growing refugee crisis. Cold cash. Well take you live to alaska on the front lines to push for oil and the battle to stop it. Plus dawn of a revolution. We talk to acclaimed documentary film maker Stanley Nelson about his new documentary on the black panthers. The panthers started as a protest, as a way to try to get rid of police violence. And their significance today. The Nuclear Agreement with iran now appears to be all but done. Today senator Barbara Mikulski came out in support of it. The Maryland Democrats announcement gives the white house the votes it needs to withstand a challenge. Jamie mcintire has more. Jamie. As you said he needed those 34 votes to make sure that any veto he issues, sticks. And now it appears assuming nobody flips that the iran deal will survive the relentless attack by its opponents. That was to be my point, sir, and i will make it right now. The notion that because there is concurrently under way an impeachment inquiry before the house of representatives, that somehow makes this a nonjusticiable political notion. This is not a request between two jurisdictional committees over who has discretion over a bill. Its not even a dispute between a president and a cabinet officer over what proper executive policy ought to be. This is a criminal proceeding, a federal criminal case against six defendants. A subpoena has been issued to obtain evidence for use at the trial, which is scheduled to begin on september 9. The court cannot esca
Flow of vital information. I agree with your point about whistleblower protections, but there are a range of different motives. There are spy, Robert Hanssen types. No sympathy for that. A lot of people leak because it makes them feel important. They are in the know, and it shows they are in the know. It makes them feel good to do that. I dont have much sympathy for that. I do have sympathy for an actual whistleblower. Were are instances where h have seen for the right reason they have gone to the press and laid out what a disagree with. Adont know that we can have system that allows every person asideide, but if you put that systemic issue, i understand where whistleblowers are coming from, and its incumbent on the government to have a process that allows whistleblowers to raise his or her concerns, get them heard, protect them from retaliation, and be confident if there is a need for change there will be congressional a committees. You say its broken now. I dont know if it ever becam
