UF offers gender-affirming care to transgender students Joelle Wittig © The Gainesville Sun/File The University of Florida Student Health Care Center The Trans Network was founded in the fall of 2014 and provided care and extensive protocol for University of Florida transgender students for a year and a half. This led to the gender-affirmative care and education that is available at the UF Student Health Care Center today.  The Trans Network was spearheaded by Reilly Clemons, a transgender woman, who came to the UF for graduate studies after graduating from the University of Alabama. Her work with the Dean of Student s Office was instrumental in establishing the Trans Network, according to Dr. Ann Grooms, an assistant professor in the department of community health and family medicine and an orange team member at the UF Student Health Care Center.
