A businessman who took a restaurant in Amruthalli on sub-lease during the first lockdown for Rs 6 lakh, got the shock of his life when he returned after the recent lockdown. All the equipment, furniture and even utensils were gone.

Basheer Z had taken the place on lease from Yeshwant in July last year. He put in some money to improve the decor, and got the restaurant up and running, so the men who sub-leased the place wanted it back. When Basheer told them to return his money, they said they would pay in installments. Basheer obtained an injunction order from the court, so the men broke into the restaurant during the lockdown and took the fridge, crockery, utensils, furniture and even stoves.
