BROOKLYN A Brooklyn resident was appointed in late March to fill the remainder of a term that was vacated on the Michigan Statewide Independent Living Council.
Glen Ashlock has filled the seat on the council vacated by Theodore R. Dorsette III, who resigned from the council, a news release from the Region 2 Area Agency on Aging said. Ashlock officially joined the council March 26 he will remain a member through the end of Dorsette’s term, which expires Dec. 31.
Being appointed to the Michigan Statewide Independent Living Council means Ashlock, the assistive technology and information technology manager for the Region 2 Area Agency on Aging (R2AAA), will represent residents of the state, including those of the underserved or tribal communities. Ashlock has been with the local not-for-profit agency that serves the needs of older adults and those with disabilities in the Jackson, Hillsdale and Lenawee County communities for eight years.
