The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned further proceedings to November 17 in the case filed by the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa against the plan by the State House of Assembly to impeach him. The adjournment was sequel to extensive arguments from counsel to the parties on the consequences of the appeal filed by the Ondo State House of Assembly against the pending orders of the court before the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

The Supreme Court has imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on a man for claiming in a PIL that the oath taken by the Bombay High Court chief justice was "defective", and said it was a frivolous attempt to gain publicity.
