The University of Oregon announced Friday it reached a settlement in a pay equity lawsuit that gained national attention for the past four years.  UO has agreed to pay $450,000 to settle the case from recently retired psychology professor Jennifer Freyd. Court records show the two parties had a settlement conference June 29, and by July 8 there was an order of dismissal filed for the case.  On Friday, the UO and Freyd issued a joint statement.

In early May, the University of Oregon joined other public and private universities across the U.S. in requiring a COVID-19 vaccine to live and learn on-campus this coming fall. This requirement doesn t just involve students it also extends to employees.  The majority of campus workers are supportive of the requirement, employee unions said, but the groups are still having to work with the UO to accommodate philosophical or medical concerns of some members, as the vaccine requirement is technically a change in working conditions.

Oct. 21, 2020 The University of Oregon is asking students not to travel over spring break this year, due to ongoing concerns of COVID-19 spread in Lane County.  In a message to students last week, UO s Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Life Kris Winter asked students not to travel over the break, which is March 20-28. UO will be holding a Week of Wellness activities in town to encourage students to stay put.
