President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. (File photo) MANILA - President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has suspended classes at all levels and work in government agencies in some parts of Luzon on Tuesday and Wednesday due to tropical storm Florita (international name: Ma-on), Malacanang announced Tuesday. In a statement, the Office of the Press Secretary (OP) said class and work suspension effective 1 p.m. Tuesday will be in place in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan. However, the suspension excludes frontline agencies that are providing emergency services. Heavy Rainfall:
Between today and tomorrow (14 May) morning, moderate to heavy rains over Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte.
Under these conditions, isolated to scattered flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps. Adjacent or nearby areas may also experience flooding in the absence of such rainfall occurrence due to surface runoff or swelling of river channels.

The effect of the TEFS has weakened. However, scattered thunderstorms may still be experienced over mainland Cagayan and Isabela due to this weather system. At 8:00 AM, LPA west of Northern Luzon has dissipated. Meanwhile, the Frontal System extending over extreme Northern Luzon has moved eastward and the TEFS (Shear Line) is currently affecting Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and Kalayaan Islands.
