HAWLEY Voters will be asked to approve 20 articles on the warrant for Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 10, including a proposed fiscal year 2022 budget that represents a nearly 2 percent decrease from this year’s budget.
The meeting will convene outside Town Hall at 7 p.m.
The warrant seeks approval for a total budget of a $1.1 million, which includes school budget appropriations for Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont regional school districts, as well as Franklin County Technical School. The town’s general budget of $537,478 a figure that excludes appropriations for the three school districts is 1.72 percent less than its current budget.

Sarah Elizabeth “Betsey” Silvester, who grew up in Shelburne Falls, Ashfield and Heath, is the founder of 2XChromosome, selling biodegradable pads, liners, tampons and wipes all of which are currently available at Keystone Market in Shelburne Falls and Green Fields Market in Greenfield, and will be presented to nurses for distribution at local schools.
