Bridge of Flowers plant sale returns May 15
SHELBURNE FALLS Although the Bridge of Flowers remains closed to the public, the traditional plant sale will be held Saturday, May 15, at the Baptist Lot, at the corner of Main and Water streets, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will go on rain or shine.
COVID-19 health safety guidelines will be followed, with attendees being asked to practice social distancing and wear masks. Volunteers will help inform visitors of protocols and traffic patterns.
Auditor elected by write-in votes in Hawley

HAWLEY Write-in candidate Carla Clark will take over as auditor and incumbent Robert McLean will continue serving on the Selectboard/Board of Health following the results of Monday’s annual town election.
The election, which saw no contested races and no one on the ballot for the auditor’s position, was held at Town Hall from 11:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to Town Clerk Pamela Shrimpton, 39 of Hawley’s 268 registered voters cast their ballots, making for a 14.55 percent voter turnout.
McLean received 37 votes to retain his seat on the Selectboard/Board of Health for a three-year term. Clark’s 12 write-in votes secured her the auditor’s seat for one year.
Hawley election sees no contests
Hawley resident Christine Hicks has her ballot cranked into the vintage voting machine outside Hawley Town Hall in June 2020. This year’s town election will be held Monday, May 3.

HAWLEY The annual town election will be held Monday, May 3, from 11:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 8 Pudding Hollow Road. There are no contested races.
The offices to be voted on are:

Mohawk Trail School Committee to discuss Open Meeting Law complaint

BUCKLAND An Open Meeting Law complaint has been filed against the Mohawk Trail Regional School District School Committee, alleging that the April 6 meeting was not posted in the proper timeframe.
The Open Meeting Law stipulates that all meetings of public bodies must be held in public though certain elements of the law have been modified to allow for remote access during the pandemic and notice of such a meeting must be posted at least 48 hours in advance.

ORANGE March 25 is the final day to obtain nomination papers for Orange’s annual town election in May, and all forms must be returned with necessary signatures by March 29.
According to Town Clerk Nancy Blackmer, the following offices will be on the ballot:
■Two three-year seats on the Selectboard
■A one-year term as moderator
■A three-year Board of Health seat
■Two three-year seats and one two-year seat on the Elementary School Committee
