The pitter-patter of rain on roofs in the coastal Wide Bay town of Bargara was a welcome sound for residents overnight with isolated falls totalling more than 100 millimetres.

Bargara resident Judy Ford measured 103.5 millimetres in her gauge and said the rain was very welcome.
