Drivers were being stopped tonight. Reporter police are checking for drunk drivers and warning people about the dangers of others. This is all in memory of autumn jenkins, who was killed in a headon crash with a drunk driver in april. You have saved a life if you get one impaired driver off of the roadways. On them is gone. She is now a statistic. The young womans father is also a volunteer firefighter and says her story needs to be told to save lives. We have to educate the public on driving intoxicated. And hopefully they will be able to educate more people as we go along. Tonight is just the beginning. More than 10,000 people were killed across the United States in 2013 and accidents involving alcohol, a statistic that might be shocking to some people being stopped here. It is going to feel like summer today. Definitely starting to get warmer back out there. The humidity is back with us and remaining with us for the next several days and another heatwave on our hands as well. Lets get it started with the michael son weather cam and the day planner. The temperatures quickly on the rise today, already 82 degrees at 10 00, 88 degrees at 1 00, 92 at 4 00 and thats dropping down from a High Temperature of 93 degrees, which will reach between 3 00 and 4 00 in the afternoon. The threat for thunderstorms is minimal until we get into the evening today with a slow moving cold front making its approach, it could trigger an isolated storm by about 6 00 or 7 00 in the afternoon and evening and then the chance for thunderstorms will start to increase as we head into the evening, kind of counter intuitive. The girls seemed to be very involved in jumping rope. Since i was my fathers son and my mothers daughter, i learned how to play baseball and basketball. And yet, i would come into the house, my mom would show me how to set the table and cook and do the things that she did after she came home from her job as a budget analyst.
