Years of rising overdose deaths in the Region of Peel prompted local officials to offer council headquarters as somewhere for people to use drugs safely.
An internal email sent by the Region of Peel’s top bureaucrat shows the local government has been sent invoices worth $1.5 million for work completed by the Peel Transition Board.
While most city and regional offices and services will be closed in Brampton on Family Day, there will still be a lot of family-friendly activities available.
Starting April 1st, the Region of Peel in Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga will be implementing a new billing system for water and wastewater services. Due to rising costs of energy, labor, insurance, and aging infrastructure, the region has decided to introduce a service delivery charge in addition to the existing consumption charge.
