Anzac Day is a special day for Braybrook Sporting Club and this is even more so for the Western Region Football League division 3 club.
Having hosted a traditional Anzac Day clash for 12 years, the Brookers weren’t able to hold a match last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They will be back in action this Sunday.
Brookers’ president Rob Hutchison said this year would be the biggest Anzac Day event that they’ve held.
“We were the first club in the WRFL to start hosting on Anzac Day,” he said.
“To be able to have a service and have army cadets, the mayor and the Sunshine RSL come down is pretty special.

New Werribee senior coach Michael Barlow says his experiences as both a player and an assistant coach will hold him in good stead when he officially takes the reins at Chirnside Park.
Barlow was announced as Mark Williams’ replacement on Monday after the Port Adelaide premiership coach accepted a development role at Melbourne for 2021.
The 33-year-old spent two years at Werribee before he was drafted to Fremantle and flourished under Ross Lyon, before returning to work alongside Williams as a playing assistant coach in 2019.
