Hundreds of people lined the streets surrounding the Emerald cenotaph on Sunday morning, April 25, to commemorate soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Students, emergency services and veterans were among the crowd that paid its respects at the 2021 Anzac Day Dawn Service at Emerald.
Dolores Wilson was one of many community members who has been attending the Emerald Anzac Day Dawn Service for about 30 years. Hundreds of people lined the streets surrounding the Emerald Cenotaph for the 2021 Anzac Day Dawn Service.
Joined by her husband and four children, Mrs Wilson said it was incredible to see so many young people in attendance and getting involved each year.

A Selma fraternity gives away more than a dozen bikes to needy children around Selma for Christmas.
Members of the Omega Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated spread some holiday cheer Tuesday afternoon in Selma by handing out bikes to area kids.
The fraternity raised enough money to buy and give away fourteen bikes in all.
Members say the giveaway was a way to reach out and give back to the community. Plus, put smiles on the faces of needy children and ease some of the financial stress some families feel during the holidays.
“This could be a stressful time for some parents,” said Reginald Glover. And it’s not a good feeling as a parent not to be able to fulfill some of the wants of your child. So, we just wanted to kind of lighten that burden if we could on a few families. So that it’s one less thing that the have to be concerned with financially.”
