The Montgomery Public School system has settled lawsuits filed on behalf of a pair of Lee High students by the Southern Poverty Law Center who were wrongly accused of possessing a firearm on campus two years ago. The students expulsions were kept in place despite being found innocent.
According to SPLC, the district will provide thousands of dollars’ worth of additional educational services, to assist the students in catching up on what they have missed following a February 2019 shooting at their school.
