tyre was just a beautiful person. he was full of life. as you can see, he loved to skateboard and he loved to watch the sunsets. he was a great dad. and he just, around about good person. this evening we have been talking about tyre nichols, who was brutally beaten by five memphis police officers after a traffic stop earlier this month and died three days later. the officers have since been fired and charged with second degree murder in the horrific footage of them attacking tyreek was released last night, prompting protests across the country. because it is yet another grim reminder of how far we still have to go to address the systemic issues of racism and policing in america, since the killing of george floyd, over 140 police oversight and reform
withheld merit awards from students until it was too late to apply for scholarships. we will talk with one parent who says her son was affected and is demanding accountability. plus, former education secretary bill bennett weighs in, and also al gore s rant, and tyrus on how new york s justice reform laws may be making the city less safe. all that and more as america reports rolls on. my name is joshua florence, and one thing i learned being a firefighter is plan ahead.
pennsylvanians pardoned bringing the total to 2,500. most ever granted by a pennsylvanian governor. but i will say that, just to put this into per spentive, we talked about this before, jim, what meek is talking about in that interview is that some people on parol in this country, they could get thrown back into prison for something as simple as crossing a state line from new york to new jersey, georgia to alabama to go and take their kid to soccer practice, right? and maybe, you know, their crime has nothing to do with crossing state lines or anything like that. so they want to make these laws, especially in the state of pennsylvania which robert rooks just told me, the ceo of reform alliance, that pennsylvania has some of the strictest probation and reform laws. that s what they re trying to reform. so happy he s been pardoned. but like they say, there is still a lot of work left to be done. all right. thank you very much.
