When Miami Hurricanes first baseman CJ Kayfus started his Saturday, he wasn’t having a bad season. A .299 hitter through his 18 prior games, Kayfus decided this wasn’t enough and led Miami with a 7-for-9 day, driving in 7 RBI with three home runs.
"For whatever reason, we just didn’t get it done today," Miami head coach Gino DiMare said. "It was a very poor effort from all the guys. We had an opportunity to sweep and we weren’t able to do that. Fortunately, we were able to take the series…It does leave a bad taste in your mouth losing that Sunday game."
“We have to stop pressing and putting too much pressure on ourselves,” head coach Gino DiMare said. “We need to act a little bit more mature at the plate and handle those situations better. We’ll learn from it.”
