This afternoon. As we get a closer look at the south bay, we see a few of those areas in yellow indicating heavier rain around saratoga and sunnyvale and that will be moving into downtown san jose. Mountains just be patient everybody is in on some decent totals. The wind advisory starts at noon for the severe Winter Weather advisory but it is mainly rain into late tonight. Over four inches are certainly in the forecast. We have steady relight rain and when the first system moves through it will drop off but the front comes tonight and the rainfall will pick up. Went on interstate 80, 27 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the maccarthur maze. When you get to the bay bridge you will notice a big back up stretching through the maccarthur maze, backed up with no major issues driving through the area. Looking at interstate 880, traffic is moderately heavy. Looking at the san mateo bridge, everything getting more crowded but no major problems. We have some slow traffic, and we talked about the crash northbound at 880 at the Stevens Creek boulevard, but not causing a big traffic jam. The south bay commute in the main part of san jose and cupertino, sunnyvale, still looking good ahead of the crowd. Hurricane irma is still a category 5 storm with powerful wind, and stronger wind gusting, and so far at least 10 dead being blamed on the storm.
