Port Huron City Council members are expected to get an update on the city’s fire station situation during this evening’s city council meeting. Last February, city council members approved an agreement with Redstone Architects to study and make recommendations on the future use of the city’s three fire stations. Tonight, council is to receive and file the report form Redstone which will outline the current conditions and needs to the city’s fire stations as well as the feasibility of upgrading or replacing them. A second reading and enactment of a rezoning ordinance is expected tonight for a vacant parcel in the 2700 block of 10th avenue. Also tonight, city council is expected to approve a bid of nearly $28-thousand from Coldspring Granite Company of Minnesota for 40 new columbaria at the Allied Veterans Cemetery. Port Huron City Council will meet at 7pm tonight at the municipal office center.
