This lighted night parade is such a blast and the community can’t wait to see everyones floats and Christmas sweaters. Kiwanis Club of Redmond will resume See's Candy sales at three locations beginning immediately after Thanksgiving. The kick-off will be Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, at the Redmond Chamber's Holiday Village in Centennial Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kiwanis volunteers will staff the kiosk again Dec. 3 and 10. Also on Nov. 25, Kiwanians will be available Mondays through Saturdays, in the Cascade Mattress and Bedroom Furniture at 224 SW Sixth St., the former location of Sears where See's sales began in 2012. Candy sales provided nearly $5,000 toward the club's youth projects in 2021. More than 30 economic development, workforce, education, business and government representatives in Central Oregon will launch a process to advance innovation-based economic development for the region, thanks to a $140,000 grant from Business Oregon and the Oregon Innovation Council. Oregon State University – Cascades, the recipient of the grant, collaborated with regional partners on the grant proposal. The Oregon Innovation Council grant program funds regional partnerships known as innovation hubs around the state to help advance innovation-based economic development and encourage participation among populations currently underserved in the innovation economy. The Central Oregon effort was one of 11 partnerships around the state to receive a grant.
