Spalding-area growers give thanks after levy vote campaign

Growers opposed to the continuation of a compulsory levy to fund AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) horticulture have spoken of their gratitude to those who have supported a ballot campaign.
Simon Redden, John Bratley and Peter Thorold have thanked those who joined the campaign to vote in which 61 per cent voted ânoâ on the continuation of the statutory levy.

Growers opposed to the continuation of a compulsory levy to fund AHDB horticulture have welcomed comments made by a Government minister that the clear vote to abolish the levy will be honoured.
Environment secretary George Eustice spoke at the annual NFU (National Farmersâ Union) online conference.
He said: âWe will be taking a swift decision on the AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) ballot and saying a bit more about this in the coming weeks.
