CONCERNS have been raised that the temporary move of the Garden Suite chemotherapy unit - from Alexandra Hospital to Kidderminster Hospital - could become permanent. The Redditch Labour group have voiced fears over the future the Garden Suite, which was moved to Kidderminster earlier this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the meeting of the county council s Health, Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HOSC) on March 10, Paul Brennan, deputy chief executive officer of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, presented a future plan for care in the county following Covid. Giving a verbal supplementary to the report, Mr Brennan cited the Garden Suite move as an example of temporary changes that could be made permanent. He said in the meeting: It may well be that following discussions within the trust we may wish to discuss with HOSC in the summer the potential for making that change permanent.”
