The springtime roller coaster ride on the thermometer spawns the popular conversation about our folklore springtime winters, named for which tree is blooming at the time.
(MURFREESBORO) If you're new to Tennessee, this "season jumping" weather is the norm. The cold snap is known as Redbud Winter and it'll be gone as quickly as it arrived. In fact, Murfreesboro Transportation's Deputy Director Ram Balachandran says it won't impact construction now through April 16, 2022.

If it werenât for the weather, there would be one less thing to complain about and striking-up conversations with strangers in waiting rooms would be a lot more difficult. They say talking about the weather is reserved for older folks, but put me in a situation with someone I donât know or have very little in common with, and sure enough, weâll soon be talking about the weather.
I think weather talk comes so naturally to strangers because unlike politics and religion, itâs typically something we can all agree on. Rain is rain, regardless of what you believe. Even when there is a disagreement - you may prefer winter and it being cool out, while I enjoy spring and warmth - those disagreements are typically less âheatedâ than conversations on who you should vote for or pray to.
Below-average temperatures are expected to last through the weekend. Author: Cassie Nall Updated: 11:25 PM EDT April 14, 2021
Don t put away the jackets just yet, cool temperatures are back in the forecast.
Our average high this time of year is 70 degrees but for the next few days, we will only be topping out in the 60s.. About 5-10 degrees below average.
Lows are expected to be in the upper 30s and low 40s, also about 5-10 degrees below average.
At this time, we are not expecting frost to be an issue so there is no need to cover sensitive plants.
So is this cool enough to be considered one of East Tennessee s little winters ?
