The forest fire situation isn’t changing much in the Red Lake District.
In their update this afternoon, the Municipality of Red lake says based on information to date an evacuation remains likely and residents are asked to be ready should an evacuation be called.
Red Lake Fire 77 remains about 20 kilometres west of Madsen and Starratt-Olsen, with little change overnight to the burn areas on the east side of the fire.
The winds are gusting from the Southwest and are currently blowing the fire in a northeasterly direction today.
MNRF crews are working diligently at creating break lines on the eastern side of Fire 77.

Red Lake Fire 77 remains a concern for the Red Lake and Madsen area but there is no evacuation order, yet.
Fire 77 is located about 30 kilometres west of Red Lake and 20 kilometres from Madsen.
In their update this afternoon, leadership with the Municipality of Red Lake says they continue to work closely with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Provincial Police, the Hospital, Airport Authority, Northwest EMS and Northwestern Health Unit.
Sprinkler systems continue to be set up on the perimeter of Red Lake, Madsen, Starret-Olsen and the Flat Lake area.

No evacuation order yet for the Municipality of Red Lake but there is growing concern with dry and windy conditions impacting area forest fires.
In their update this afternoon, the Municipality says forest fire conditions remain high and Red Lake Fire 77 and Red Lake Fire 16 continue to be a threat.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, along with the Municipality are continuing to monitor conditions.
Red Lake Fire 77 is not under control and mapped at 22,000 hectares in size, 20 kilometres west of Madsen and Starret-Olsen.
Red Lake Fire 16 is being observed at 70575.4 hectares in size, 10 kilometres north of Fire 77.
