area, if you will. so yonge street, it s not downtown proper because it s not near the lake front, but it s still part of that main business and residential artery in the city. so lot of traffic, lot of individuals, shep. lot of interviews happening. let s listen. i seen a white van with red coloring on it. all i saw, he smashed into someone over there. it s okay. then someone over there. i seen him go ahead. i thought he had a heart attack. i was trying to chase it down in a way, try to catch up, see what happened. all i seen this guy just crumble. he s going 70, 80 clips just hitting people one by one going down. it was a night mare. i got to yonge, and i seen a lady with her leg.
no water. now too much of it. they can t control how much water is going to be flowing into this lake as we go throughout the next week or two. right now thankfully the water did drop three feet overnight. this is the spillway where all the erosion took place. now all water is going down the main spillway. so they don t need a lot of rain. they have two days of pretty much clear skies, nice weather conditions out there, no problems. there is some snow melt going on so it s not like no water is coming into the lake. so about double is going out than is coming in. but here comes the next storm system as we go into wednesday. we get two storms in the next seven days. this red coloring in the mountains is four inches of rain, the pink is five inches and the bulls eye is right in the area for oroville.
all morning long. a difference between five miles between significant damage in the areas or maybe minor damage. a close call. as far as storm surge goes, we just had a four-foot storm surge in cape canaveral. everyone south of there avoided storm surge. that s fantastic noise for coke cocoa beach. the storm will be closer and because of the angle of approach and the way winds will pile up water on the coast, that red coloring is up to ten feet of storm surge. we haven t even seen even half of that up to this point yet. that s why this storm has a chance to be historic. that s why you still need to be away from the coast from northern portions of florida through georgia and south carolina as we go throughout the day today and then tomorrow we ll bring that back up into areas of south carolina. so once again, the path of the storm is going to be parallel to the coast. we may not expect a landfall of this major hurricane.
melbourne is seeing the worst of it right now. high winds are arriving. let me go closer in on this. this is the eye here. the center of the eye is the calm of the storm. this area to the north, this is where we re watching the hurricane force winds. titusville area, you are in danger of the winds. the outer eye will get the worst wind daniel. this is a representation of that showing red coloring. that s where worst damage is. orange is tropical storm. in red is when destruction can begin. as far as what i m most concerned with. wind damage today will be in moderate hurricane category. big deal if you re along the coast. monetary damage. we won t see houses blown to pieces. as far as the storm surge goes, this is still the part that can be historic. this area of red. this will happen this morning. daytona beach as we head toward
16 million people. enhanced risk is orange. every category is a little worse. saturday we put this red coloring in here. that s a moderate risk of severe storms. that could go up to high risk by the time we get there. rare three days out that we get this large of an area in a moderate risk. that s a big concern. the difference is when like yesterday we had a couple strong tornadoes. they weren t on the ground lock and didn t last long. by the time we get to saturday we could have strong tornadoes that are called long trek tornadoes that are on the ground for a long time. these are traditionically the deadliest and scariest ones. it s going to be a long four days here in the middle of the country. let s hope for the best especially in the community of moore. they got hit hard a few years ago. everyone couldn t believe they had a hard tornado headed for them. they just rebuilt. let s hope for the best. first flash flood warning in oklahoma city as well.
